first real race in a long ass time

so last friday night i got pretty damn bored so i took a little drive around town in my brothers car to see if i could find some fun. but for about twenty minutes into it i find myself coming up behind an early ninties hatch with an exhaust so i thought id try and run him. but there was a TON of traffic so i could get up next to him. so i just followed and the road we were on hit the freeway and we both got on, and to my surprise it was totally empty... so up the on ramp he took off so i followed and came up on his left side. and we took off from about sixty-ish, up to maybe one ten. but that was a bit to fast for where we were so i left off.

but he had the same idea i did. so we got off the freeway and drove down a street towards one of the marinas in stockton.

so run one: the first run was kinda in the open which worried me because cops have been out in force lately. but we're both at the light streets are empty and we rev up. light hits green and we both launch, i spun a tiny bit through first and barked second. but the hatch had way worse luck with his launch, especially because we were on brick. so up through first into second i had him at my back wheel and he stayed there till his miss shift into third so we let off
run two: pretty much the same outcome as the previous but i only held him back at my front door.
third run: this was the closest best run for both of us. we started off right by the marina and had a nice open straight road in front of us. so, rev up and i honked us down. i lauched at about 3 grand and bogged a tiny bit but with a little clutch flickering i brought it back. he launched at i think 4 and spun through first, but his shift into second was quite good. so up till the top of fourth i had him by a little less than a car and we shut down at about 90ish...

so we found a parking lot and popped the hoods.
my car: 1984 bmw 325i, intake, tires and strut. nothin major but it runs well.
his car: early to mid ninties hatch, 1.5 block with sohc vtec head. mods headers, exhaust, intake, plugs, wires and distributor... so we were there bullshittin for a while and from what he told me his car should pull a mid to high 14, but he had his timing retarded and soem other things done so he could pass a couple'a laws.

so ya it was a good night. only a couple runs but well worth it

Sounds like fun! Where I live your lucky to find someone who has actually done something to thier car! Most of the yahoos around here just put body kits on their cars and ignore the engine. It's easy to take them in my practically stock maxima, but then again I never can get a deseant race out of anyone around here.

Nice runs, good kills... But, I got a little confused and I'm not sure if you were racing in your brothers or your own car...

Either way, must've been a good day.
