Re: 93 Grand AM turns over but won't start
Check to see if the timing belt has jumped a tooth or two.
Check ECM or PCM for good connection. Change your plugs if their fouled by raw gas. Check for error codes in the computer. |

Re: 93 Grand AM turns over but won't start
If it's a Tri-Pack coil, I wouldn't expect all three coils to go bad. It could be the ignition module. I believe you might be able to have this tested before replacement.
If that doesn't work for you, I'd go to the computer next. Replace it (keep your prom). Go to a junk yard to keep cost under control on a guess and by golly approach. |

Re: 93 Grand AM turns over but won't start
An ignition module or the Ecm is most likly why thiers no spark. And If all the fuses for those are good.
The V6 has a timing chain, they can break but the motor would turn over really fast, you would notice the diff. Both of those parts, Ecm and ignition mod can be test, i'm pretty sure. I'll see if I hav a link with the rundown heres a pic showing how to test the coils properly. HEI Also, thiers two crankshaft position sensors . Thiers also a camshaft sensor, related connecting wires, and the Electronic Spark Timing Ignition Control portion of the computer control module (ECM or PCM). Good Luck

Re: 93 Grand AM turns over but won't start
I found the problem it was the ignition module.
Thanks for the help I am also having a problem with the car shuddering when I first accelerate, after it hits 2nd gear its fine, I can start in 2nd gear and it goes perfect. Any ideas. I have a mechanic checking it out now. Let me know. I'll post what the mechanic finds. |
