You're steaming problem might be a clogged carbon filter. They should be replace about once a year or every 10,000 miles or so.

The first thing that comes to mind for your car alarm, it may not have been wired properly if it is aftermarket and/or just installed, even if it was done "professionally." I'm not sure if these cars came with factory alarms. And if it is wired properly, then consider a faulty alarm if it's 'alarming' when the car is in motion. Things do wear out after time. If the alarm requires it to be hooked up to any of the cars computer or electrical, it may be incompatible and thus be the reason for it shutting your car down and alarming. As for the alarm going off when you open ther car...that seems pretty normal to me, assuming the motor is not running and the car is in "Park" and the alarm is active. Also, check to see if your alarm sensors are in proper adjustment. As for not "switching off", maybe the key fob battery is dead...assuming you have a key fob. I can't really give you a whole lot of suggestions as I don't know what you have exactly (beit an aftermarket or factory alarm) but that's just off the top of my head. If it's a factory alarm (which, again, I don't know if they came with one or not), I'd suggest taking it to a certified BMW mechanic to check it out. I personally wouldn't trust anyone with my '90 750iL except me or a certified mechanic.
