Vibration

First of all I'm a newby to this site. I have a 2005 Honda Pilot EX-L, and I have noticed a vibration at highway speeds of between 70 -75 MPH. My dealer is unable to help, Honda of America tells me this not a problem??? The tires and wheels have been rotated, balanced (3 times) still the problem persists. Anyone out there know of a fix, or has the same problem. BTW the vibration is just enough to feel in the steering wheel. Not much fun on the highway.

Re: Vibration

Possibly an alignment problem. I don't know of any known problems but try having an alignment done.

Agreed.. Also make sure they actually check the wheel to. Most time they will just set the tire and all up on the balancer and balance it for one range of speed. They dont actually look for visual out of roundness.

Re: Vibration

The last thing to check is the tire pressure.

Re: Vibration

If the tires have a good balance and the motor mounts are in good shape and if the vehicle has over 50,000 miles, there is a GOOD chance that it is the much overlooked shocks or struts. Buy good one like KYB, not the mass marketed names.

Re: Vibration

be sure the tires get road force balanced...you could have a bad tire.

Re: Vibration

Sorry for the late post, but have not been on here in a while. Mine was doing the same thing, have an 04 with 74,000 miles on it. Try having the balance, rotation, alignment, BUT have them hand torque the tires. What a difference in mine

Re: Vibration

Sorry for the late reply. Try having the wheels hand torqued when put back on.

Re: Vibration

I have a Honda Pilot too. I noticed the same problem when it let one of the tires ware to much before I rotated them. It could be that you have a tire ware problem too.

check the condition of the tires , put attention and look very well the treats of the tires possible your tires UNEVEN WEAR in the tires ,some times this cause a noise , if you feel the vivration in the steering wheel definelly is the wheel balance in the front tires , this problem can be by 2 things , #1 wheel balance # 2 the rims are bend even when you balance this problem come on when is in high speed feeling vivration the steering . Are you having vivration when you braking your car ?if yes your disc or rotors brakes need replace or cut giving a nice smooth shape when you press your brakes and not feeling viivration in your pedals good luck dornier34
