96 ls or 99 gs

I have found a 96 ls auto with 28K on it for a decent price. The interior is amaculate as there are not a lot of miles on it anyway. I have also found a 99 gs 5-speed that has 58K on it for 1000 more than the ls. It too is in great condition. From my research, both have the same HP and get the same MPG. My ? is which would be the better choice. I would like to hear from a reliability standpoint and also all of those performance minded people. The most that I would probably do is IHE. Other than that, I change all of my own fluids and keep everything clean. thanks for the opinions.

Re: 96 ls or 99 gs

personally i enjoy driving a 5-speed. autos are to sluggish. but a newer car is always nicer.

Re: 96 ls or 99 gs

I'd go with the 99gs. It has the all red taillights, leather interior and the front bumper looks better on the 99. Also the 99 is a 5 speed and much funner to drive. And 58k miles is nothing for a 99.

Re: 96 ls or 99 gs

definitely The 99 GS. It is newer, newer looking, and has more options standard. That mileage is nothing to worry about. Plus the 5-speed is better performing and better gas mileage than the auto, and more fun to drive. Of course I would recomend a test drive of each and see how they feel. If say feels like its slipping or something on the gs then I'd say the LS is the way to go. But if they are both mechanically sound then I'd go GS.

Re: 96 ls or 99 gs

I appreciate the input. I did decide to go with the 99 gs but have not picked her up yet. ( She is gauranteed mine though) The 5-speed and the fact that the gs had a factory cd player in it and the ls had a tape deck were two deciding factors, as both were mechanically sound otherwise. I'm sure that I'll be surfing this site for future ?'s and modifications. thx again

Re: 96 ls or 99 gs

i prefer the 98+ body style

but a 96 withb that low of orignal miles is a great find..if the miles are original...

the 99 gs is just as good..there both the same car...one 5spd..one auto.. its really your choice...96 has a different front end..and taillights..little different interior too...99 has the newer front end..the all red tails..and nice throughout. 58K miles is low..i bought a 98 with 52K miles.

the 99 probly has cd deck too...the 96 may have tape and 6cd changer?(my 96 did)

team-integra.net..check it out
