clutch problem..

So tonight when I was going to go out and cruise around abit I got in the car getting ready to start it up and noticed the clutch pedal had almost no pressure to it at all, started it up and while pressing the pedal down I couldn't shift at all, my car acted like it wanted die because I was in gear, had the brake and e-brake up even even with me pressing the clutch in all the way. It has nearly no pressure about half way threw pressing it, then a little bit more. I turned the car off, clutched in and stuck took it out of gear, started the car up and it it acted fine.(just had to make sure for my own peace of mind).
So what exactly is the problem? Am I looking at replacing the clutch? It didn't do this the night before at all, it drove around perfectly and tonight this..

*btw the tempature here at night is mildly warm(fairly hot during the day). Someone told me I should bring that up...

Sounds like the slave cylinder is low. There should be a small resivor under you hood, sence you didnt tell us what kind of car thats about all I can tell you, most are on the driverside of the firewall though.

If thats the problem that is good news to hear indeed as I dont have the money to replace the clutch. So I guess I should check for a leak on the reservoir or is it normal for it to be fine one day then just go out..?

^ it's the one on the far right. Check the fluid to see if it's low, fill it up with some brake fluid if thats the case.

if its low, that means there's a leak somewhere. probably the master or the slave

I just took a look at it and it's basicly empty. I've never noticed the fluid level on it before so I dont know how gradual the leak is, I didn't see a puddle of brake fluid under the car though..
