Humming sound
2000 gp se 3.1 77k
there is a humming sound i hear at 45-maybe 60mph. its hard to tell what side its coming from but it sounds more like the rear. but i recently did have tierods and alignment done. when its humming there isnt any vibration or any change of sound while turning. Am i looking at a wheel bearing issue? or something totaly different. i'm not to car savvy. oh and i had the tierods/alignment done about 2 months ago. Thanks for the help! amazing forum we got here. and is it unsafe to drive like this at all? thanks again! |

Re: Humming sound
Like Max said, run your hand around the tires, both in the direction of rotation and against. If you feel edges going against (the tire almost feels like the edge of a dull serrated knife), but it feels smooth going with, it's the tires causing your noise. If the tires check out, a hub would be my next suggestion as well.
