Re: Speedometer needles

i'm pretty sure 650-700rpms is what it should be.
800 is pretty high, the fast idle is about 1100-1200 when the motors cold.

Did all your gauges rest at 0 when you disconnected the cluster ?

What kind of gauges did you install?

This is something I hav been wanting to do,
but i'm all thumbs
affraid I would break the needles and be screw'd

I just would like the white face ones not those add on ones with lights. they sound and look neat, I
Think I saw some athttp://www.customautoaccents.com/ I liked , you can pick the color for the lighting , kinda pricy though :/ I reall hate the red/orange that comes stock, hope GM makes some changes down the road

Re: Speedometer needles

i was pretty skeptical about the needles breaking but when i removed them in my opinion they werent as fragile as i assumed them to be but with the gauge overlays i also installed these things called Intelliglow Needles consists of a small L.E.D. that is behind the round part of the needle and glows a night, im extremely happy with the results they came out real nice, later tonight ill posr some pics of the new needles and face plate and what they look like lit up at night.

http://www.pfyc.com - DHP PCM (Well worth it , no doubt)
I've seen the most gains from the DHP PCM, and it just complimented my modded exhaust and now my Cold Air Intake, runnin smooth

Cons:
- 91+ Oct required
- CASE LEARN IS A MUST, or you'll be driving one funky GA around, (the PCM doesnt know when to shift so it goes early to prevent trans damage, CASE learn solves the problem and moves original shift points higher... Depending how open the throttle is, determines when the car will shift... if you say... %60 WOT.. the PCM might shift 1st->2nd at 4000rpms... %100 flat out WOT... the trans will shift at redline)
--Dealership may charge fee to do CASE Learn (Charged me $40) <-- also the tards didnt do it correctly the first time, do state that it is aftermarket and you DO NOT WANT IT REFLASHED... or they might attempt.

be sure to grab that link, blue needles are wanted

Re: Speedometer needles

yes the DHP PCM is a good investment.

They were on sale for $100 + core charge,
you cant buy a GM pcm for that cheap

You dont have to run 91+ octane,
but for performance gains its required.
