Hey everybody how yall doing? Not to much here . I was just wondering where could I find a stock motor for a 1997 eclpise rs . I'm about to buy this car it has 190,000 on it and its a 5 speed. I dont know if i want to take the chance of riding around on that motor because it's going to be my daily driver. I'm trying to take my four door cavalier off the rode so i can finish the body work n engine work to it to put in car show.Anyways let me know if its possible on where to get a motor n transmission from i really dont have the money to spend and im not trying to spend oiver 600 bucks if that lol. $600? ebay or a junkyard for that price. but in my experience in looking for a reliable motor look to spend atleast $500 and for a good reliable tranny around $300. i had a 95 and bought a motor from the junkyard for $250 because the first one crankwalked, got the second one in it was good for a month and crankwalked too. I had the chance to buy one from a motorshop with an actually warranty on it. to me thats your best bet, but thats just me. good luck

Good look, also i posted up a new thread to about this car dealing with that the car had been wrecked befor and the doors dont close unless u lift up on it and close hard. anything i need to look for befor i buy this car?
