95 civic what wires are needed?

I Have a running 95 Honda civic that was hit. I am trying to take the motor out and make it run out of the car. I am trying a project with a sand rail. I unplugged the computer and moved it to the engine compartment and tried to do the same with the wiring on the driver side. What wires are absolutely necessary to make the engine run? I don't have a wiring diagram or anything. all I do know is if I run power to a black and white wire in a plug by the driver side the starter motor spins but I know I have no spark. This is far from the days when I ran a hot wire to the coil and everything worked. Any help or ideas.
