Question New Member 95 Aurora many questions

1- My air ride compressor runs after the car is shut off, and also is very loud like a compressor for air tools. Should I be worried?

2- My power steering system has an extreme leak. To the point where even a whole bottle wont last a day. What to do? Where to check? Any common places?

3- Service engine soon light is on. Can i get the code read at autozone or is this car an OBD I?

4- Car sat for 9 months before I bought it. Should I change the tranny fluid? Im guessing yes but on older cars with high mileage I cringe. 165k. Paid 600 tho.

5- Passengers side windows wont go down. And nothing on drivers side switches will work except drivers side windows switches. Power locks, seat mem, lumbar, seat control, and door lock do not work on drivers side switch cluster. Could this be attributed to the wire problem in the door jamb area?

Re: New Member 95 Aurora many questions

Quickie (im At Work)

-car Is Obd I (yeah, It Sux, I Have A 95 As Well)

-i Am Not Aware Of A Typical Fail Area In Regards To Steering Leaks Other Than To Say That I Have Heard Of A Few Racks Being Replaced.

-i Just Unplugged My Air Ride And Installed Generic Air Shocks In The Rear. They Work Fine And When I Want To, I Can Add Or Release Air Manually Thru A Valve In The Kit. Total Cost $65.

-i Would Change The Fluid Anyway. It Is Cheap Insurance. Lift The Car Up And Pull The Tranny Pan, Pull The Convertor Plug Out And Get That Fluid Out As Well. Change The Filters. It Is Not Bad To Change The Fluid, But A Flush Is Debatable.

-the Wires In The Door Break Inside The Rubber Boot That Goes Between The Door And The Chasis. Cut The Boot Open And Fix The Broken Wires. This Is Very Typical For The Car. There Are Two Wires Which Were Not Long Enough To Stretch Proper And They Fail On All 95's.
