At the current gas prices No. If they were about 60-90 cents per gallon cheaper than I can handle it.

I agree there Highway i hit 17 MPG Thats with 31's and A/C, BUt i knew that was gonna happen w/ lift and tires. But the amount that i learned about how stuff works in car was so helpful. Id get one as a toy then a daily driver. After BlazerSS's whip. I wanted to make a twin turbo small blocked or the 4.3 blazer it wont happen but i can dream.

Re: If you could do it all over again, would you get your blazer?

I have been disappointed with the Blazer, in terms of quality. Everybody has likes and dislikes, but for me I have had very poor luck with Chevys. I have spent a ton of time and money getting the Blazer going. Got a 1995 4x4 LT package with 108k. I have owned it for 3 years now have 143k. In that time, honestly every week, it has something going wrong with it. Having said that though it has never stranded me and I have pulled a lot of stuff with it and it tows great. As a side note, the reason I got the Blazer, was the fact I worked as a technician at the factory that made the power window, door lock and mirror switches and housings. It contains parts and pieces that I helped make. Thats my take. If you got a problem with the switches or let me know and I can try and help out!

I would have gotten some more muscle and gotten a sports car.

For the fuel consumption, I might as well have something fast.

Re: If you could do it all over again, would you get your blazer?

I'm torn. I like it and I hate it. It was a decent truck I bought from a friend who really took care of it. Unfortunately this thing always needs something. I like the fact that I can haul the family and the dog and the coolers around - even some lumber or whatever for my weekly project. I would prefer a pick up though. The the gas came along and I too wish I had a civic. I may get one for daily commute and drive the Blazer on weekends.

Re: If you could do it all over again, would you get your blazer?

Once upon a time when I was younger, I traveled to Tibet. I drove and climbed to the tallest mountain that I could find, looking for the wise man in the cave . He and only He could answer this Burning question.

Upon finding him and sharing a 6 pack and doing shots , I posed this question "if I could go back in time and not purchase my Blazer, how would my life have changed?"

First thing he did was stare at the shoes that I was wearing. Then posted his own question to me. "Why do you ask such a profound and all encompising question?" Did you not drive your Blazer half way here to find me? Was the road not coverd with snow and ice? Only abandoning it to climb the last 6 feet to my cave? Look at your shoes. Look at how worn out they are. Are they but two weeks old? Everything wears, you buy new shoes all of the time , But then complain when you have to replace your tires every 4 years, change your fluids every two years, your Blazer has many moving parts, all wear against each other THINGS WEAR OUT!! You drive maybe 15,000 miles a year in all weather conditions, slamming doors, not changing your fluids on time, not doing maintenance when you know that you should, or letting strange sounds go , thinking that they just might go away!

But yet , your shoes are new.

Now pass me another Beer and get the hell out of my cave!!!!!

Re: If you could do it all over again, would you get your blazer?

The only reason I bought mine (2000 4x4 purchased new in '99, 111,000miles) was because my wife and I must have at least one full-frame 4wd vehicle because the city of Philadelphia doesn't really plow and we have a business down there. It's not so much the driving that's the problem, as the parking -- the Blazer can easily park in an unplowed/unshoveled street spot -- which is absolutely necessary for us. That said, I'm fairly happy with the Blazer and more or less expected crappy gas mileage because of the full frame and 4wd. When the day comes when we sell the business, I'd never buy another 4wd anything unless it was just for occasional use as a toy. The Blazer has been relatively trouble free except for the intake gasket and has never left me stranded. I'm sort of pissed at GM for the crappy intake manifold gaskets and for not stepping up to the plate and just doing the right thing on this widespread problem (same thing happened to my old 1999 Venture). This tells me that the company is run by short-sighted idiots and probably is doomed to eventual failure.

Same here ive replaced most things except the previous owner did the job of putting a new engine a rebuilt rear and tranny in it before selling it..... now that ive improved my gas mileage to 16mpg (instead of 12) city its great. Everything except the drivers side power lock switch works. Would gladly do it again
