'93 Right Shaft Universal Joint

We have a 93 Eddie Bauer with TTB Dana 35 front axle. The Automatic Hubs were dragging intermitantly. I read this could be the universal joint so I removed the "Right Shaft and Joint Assembly". The outer universal is toast. A replacement shaft is $160. ACDELCO list universals that could fit that range from $14 to $45.

The question is, has anyone replaced the universal joint? What did they use? Where did they get it? Or, do I have to go with the whole shaft from CarQuest?

Thanks

Re: '93 Right Shaft Universal Joint

The whole shaft would be easier. I use Ford or Motorcraft parts for replacement U-joints.

Re: '93 Right Shaft Universal Joint

Thanks for the response. Ford and Motorcraft have discontinued the shaft and its parts. However, comparision shopping at Advance Auto Parts found a universal that fits. For information it is part number 1-0297BF. $15. What a deal.
