coupe or 4 dr????????

Posted the question about the leather compared to leatherette and now I have one more. I've had my 325ES 2 dr.for 12 years and am looking at a 2003 325ci. I am a 2 dr. nut but have heard the newer 2 drs. are not as ridgid and have latch problems and window seal problems. I don't want to buy a new beauty and be unhappy with it in 6 mos. I have to admit, in my mind there's nothing like a 2 dr. coupe.....AWESOME. Your opinions are appreciated as its been a long time comming and I don't want any problems. Th E46 4 drs. are suite though.

I like the look of the E36 sedan better then the coupe...but I really love the look of the E46 coupe much better than the sedan. I'd stick with the coupe if that's what you like...don't disappoint yourself

2dr or 4dr

I think you probably right. I just want to do this right and be happy with my choice. I appreciate all comments, especially from 4dr owners.

I own a 2002 330 4dr. I think both are great looking, however I like the chrome grill and body colored side moldings available in the 2dr. If it weren't for kids, I would have the coupe.

I am happy with my 2 door.... I do prefer the 2 door over the 4 door, has a more sexy sleek look to it....

I guess it all depends on your lifestyle and what best suits it.

I have 1, 4 year old child as well as my 1 year old nephew who is always with me, and having the 2 door is no problem for me even with 2 child restraints in the back.. The 2 doors are still very roomy...

The 4 doors are still nice.... but not my style....

I agree with both Eagerowl and T X 2!
I think the standard E36 looks better with Four doors,
but the Compact looks better with Two doors.
With boot the proportions seem to look better with four doors
with the hatch 2 doors always looks better.

Just my thoughts.

I have had both , an E36 4 door and now a E36 Coupe and i prefare the coupe 100% , it gives you a much better sense that you have a sports car and mine gives no problems at all and seals well . I don`t know about the E46 ..:flash:

I have a 2003 320i 4dr in black which looks great with some decent wheels. Just add black tinted glass for that really mean look! I preferred th enew grille and front end styling to the 2dr which has retained the original E46 look. I guess it's all down to personal taste.

As for body strength, well I'm on my 3rd E46 4dr and all have been rattle free and very rigid....and practical.........only problem is, I get asked to give friends a ride home from the pub!

Whatever you choose you won't be disappointed.

Which one?

I have the same problem. I had a 1998 E36 (328i) sedan and currently a 2001 E46 (330i) sedan. Both were great cars; fun to drive and problem free. My 330i has the sport package that comes with a different front air dam and side skirts than what you receive on the 330ci. Bmw should offer the same kits for sedan or coupe. I will be getting a new Bimmer next year. I am considering the M3. I wish they offered it in a sedan because this would be my first choice. I think that the sedan looks better and this is only my opinion. I never thought
I would own a sedan but when you are married and have children things change. I know have an suv too so a coupe is possible. I have driven the 330ci with the optional 18" wheels and the car feels not much different than my 330i with 17" wheels. You cannot go wrong with either one you choose, which ever one you pick will leave a smile on your face when you drive!
