97 to 98 conversion

is it possible to put a 98 dash in a 97 model? ive read on other forums that said u could and others that said u can't so any help would be appreciated

Re: 97 to 98 conversion

Physically it will fit...(minor tweaking of the braces has to be done) The problem is the gauge cluster. In the 98+ most of the signals for the gauge cluster run through the BCM (body control module) 95-97 don't have a BCM perse and cannon generate the proper signal to the cluster via the class to serial line. The 95-97 cluster get their signals directly from the sensors for the most part. Now if you wanted to to a custom cluster with lets say autometer gauges on a template, that would probably work out well...
