Hey all, did a search...
\Hey all, been though tonnes of threads looking for somthing similar to my problem, havent' found anything the same, or maybe I just missed it going through a few hundred messages *grins*
Here's what goes on... 1995 Blazer, 4door 4x4, Vin W 270,000 KM Drove great Saturday, cruising, shopping everything. Parked, slept, woke up, went to go get some info to get new tags on Monday (14th) Stick the keys in the ignition, turn... nada.. I hear the pump, the gauges come on, all the lights light up, check gauges, etc. but I dont' here the starter turn (Yes, I think it's the starter) I checked the battery, other wires, pressure ect. everything seems to check out. (no clicking of the solonoid or anything) I've exhausted my mental trouble shootign from following everything on this board, any other suggestions? Or if someone knows a thread I missed, please send me the link, all woudl be appreciated. Many thanks. Xpc |

Get out the old test light and see if the small purple wire to starter solenoid is getting 12 volts to it when key is in start position. But be carefull keep it in park with emg brake on and have some help there it may stat when you are testing. If it is getting 12 volts and the big pos cable to starter and battery and battery ground cable is good you will need a starter or solenoid. If not getting 12 volts work back to neutral saftey switch and ign switch. MT

Re: Hey all, did a search...
My money is on the battery. I have had this happen too many times. There is one other thing you can try, take a tire iron or somthing similar and crawl over the top of the front passenger tire and tap the solenoid with a couple of sharp blows and then turn the key. Occassionally, the solenoid will stick. If it starts, you know you get to replace the starter/solenoid. If this doesn't work, at least it didn't cost you anything.

Re: Hey all, did a search...
Did you try putting it in neutral and turning the key?

Re: Hey all, did a search...
Yea, try in neutral.
Put the key to on and firmly put the shifter back in park again. If that doesn't work, have someone tap on the starter lightly with a hammer while you are trying to turn it over.
