engine parts to save=??

i,m buying a used jdm form l.a. they said the manifolds from my existing engine will need to be switched over. the jdm has some kind of emissions thing. they,re different. what other engine parts should i save. the distributor was leaking oil already. i ran the car hard. it started smoking big time instantly.
