Tail light trouble 97 Crown Vic
Ok, the tail light needs to be changed. I understand this isn't difficult so I want to do it myself. I got my manual out and read and read, and looked in the index and read again, and there is Nothing on changing a tail light. I got online and looked and can find nothing anywhere on how to do this. Now maybe it is so simple that no one else thinks it needs directions but I am lost. Can anyone help?

Re: Tail light trouble 97 Crown Vic
Open the trunk, if it has a trunk liner, there are small plastic pieces that hold the liner in. Remove the liner holder. Pull the liner back and there are some plastic nuts on studs. I think there are 3. Remove the plastic nuts and pull the tail light assembly out of car. Twist the light sockets to remove from the housing. Pull bulb out and replace bulb. Install all parts and you are done. It is a good idea to check to see if the lights work properly BEFORE you install the light housing.

Re: Tail light trouble 97 Crown Vic
Thats exactly it. Also when you put the lights back on the car before you crank the plastic wingnuts back down, take notice of the little plastic pin on the back side of the light opposite to the tag. If you dont line it up perfect with the hole its intended to find you will end up with a tailight that sticks out a little on the outside edge and it will be noticable from a side view.
