coolant leak

I have a 1998 olds, 88. I have water leaking from a elbow hose(3" long) coming out of the intake. Somebody told me there is a O'ring that probly went bad. They said the only way to fix it is to take intake and ect. off to get to the O'ring. It will be a 6 to 7 hr job. Is there any other way of fixing it. I cant afford to take it to the garage at 40 to 50 dollars and hr. I thought of doing it myself but front wheel drives im not good at. The elbow comes out and into the water pump looks like. the other side looks like someone sealed it with something. Can someone tell me if there is an easy way of fixing it or tearing apart the motor to fix it.
