Honda F1 - in plastic.

So, since Button finally won a race, and a Honda has won the Hungarian GP, what are the odds that Tamiya is rushing to produce the car in plastic?

I can only hope. And they need to hurry! And aftermarket detail parts makers need to hurry! So I can get something into the Motorsport comp this year!

Ya'll keep ya'll's ears to the ground. And if you hear anything good and promising, for God's sake, let me know!

Man, I sure wish they would make the kit. Being that I work for Honda... it'd be nice to finally have a model of the F1 car that I can actually afford! But Im not going to hold my breath on this.

If Tamiya made kits for every Grand Prix winner, we'd have an abundance of Renault, Mclaren and Ferrari kits available - all we have right now is an abundance of Ferrari kits

Yeah, but it's a Japanese car, run by a Japanese team. Tamiya tends to crazy with that sort of thing, I reckon there's demand in their home market. The only way to make it a sure thing would be if it was a Japanese driver at that Japanese GP.

I just thought about Sato winning this years Japan GP in a Super Aguri on Bridgestone tyres if this happens than I am pretty sure we get a new F1 kit maybe even in 1/12...

But it would be awesome to get this years Honda even if painting/polishing will be a nightmare with all these littel flaps and wings

Freakray, problem being that even the "abundant" Ferrari's are 5 years old... Newest F1 thing out there from Tamiya is the slightly-lesser-aged 2002 FW24! So yes, I hope there is hope with Honda winning something.

As an aside one of the reasons for the large number of Ferrari kits by Tamiya and others such as Fujimi and Revell is their very low licensing fee. I got this info from a Tamiya exec. Seems good marketing practice to me - wish other car companies would do the same thing. They are obviously just too greedy.

I wouldn't care what tamiya made an F1 model of, JUST AS LONG AS THEY ACTUALLY MAKE ONE!!!!

Would be nice. Probably the only type of kit where the die cast chassis will work.
