Update - 98 Contour Reprogram Keyless Entry Transmitter

OK, I have found the emergency override / programming button on my security system, but I still can't seem to program the new transmitter. I hold the button down for at least 30 seconds and nothing happens. The key is in the ON position. I've tried this with the door open, door closed.  (<-- That's me right now!)Can anyone offer any other options?

though expensive and obnoxious when all else fails make the dealer do it..... paying someone professionaly means that they have to fix and it has to continue to work no matter what or they have to fix it for free for you... if youre having so much trouble with it... i might just give up and take it to the dealer.

FYI for anyone else with this problem. There is a 1-800 number on the back of the security box. They are very helpful and are willing to work with you.
