1998 Windstar Cigarette Lighter / Power Outlets

Hi,

Our cigarette lighter socket has come apart in the dash and the wire has popped off the end of the lighter socket. Looks like I can just reattach the wire and screw it back together but, is there an easy way to get behind it with my hand to hold it together while I tighten it up?

We also had the power socket on the between the seats console pop loose the same way. ANy trick to getting to that one as well?

Many thanks for your help.

As I remember on my '96, which from pictures I have seen may be the same as your '98. You can remove the complete black face plate.....that is around the dash mounted outlet ("cigarette lighter), and radio, and so on.
When you do this, the outlet comes out with the face plate.....and you have full access to it, front and back.
