Re: this guy is nuts - $999.99 opening bid for this kit?
His wife said "I'm sick of your stash! Sell it- get rid of it now!" But he figured even if some freakin' idiot would pay $1000 USD for it, said freakin' idiot wouldn't pay $98 USD to ship it. He appears to be correct. But he'll tell her, "Sure, I made a good attempt to sell it all!"
Fortunately, I'm sure my wife would never attempt to compell me to do such a thing- but if she did, I'm sure my Tamiya Enzo is worth $250, and my Fujimi Enthu 288 GTO has got to be worth at least $750!

Listing fees are gonna hurt though..
Just FYI, that is the R/C model not a static one. It is as rare as hens teeth. They made that model and a blue one back in the very early eighties and to find one in that kind of condition (mint box and contents) is near impossible. It's probably priced a bit high but not by that much..

Re: this guy is nuts - $999.99 opening bid for this kit?
Back in ~1984 I had purchased the Otaki(?) 1/12 Countach with probably my year's worth of allowance. To make a long story short, the body was left in a car and was warped beyond repair. I tried to convince the hobby store guys to order me that Tamiya 1/12 R/C body so I could repair my kit but they said it wouldn't be possible, plus that body was already getting hard to find by that time. Of course now I know better and probably could've used that body, or even straighten out the warped one. Live and learn.
As for the price, look up other Tamiya NIB R/C kits from the early 80s. They're pretty close to that.
