72 el camino motor
My '72 EL Camino 350 original motor has 136k miles. I'm thinking about rebuilding it, however I would like to know other opinions. Should I rebuild it or purchase a new one? If possible I would like to keep it original.
Your opinion is appreciated. Last edited by NewKidOfTheGroup; 08-16-2006 at 10:41 PM. |

Re: 72 el camino motor
Well that depends on are you wanting to keep it all original or do you want to go for a crate engine and not worry about the #s matching, it depends on you answering that first.

Re: 72 el camino motor
Hey man,
If i was in your situation, i would rebuild the motor. If you get it rebuilt, its as good as new! If you get rid of the stock motor, the value of the camino will go down. The 72' 350's were pretty good motors too. And rebuilding the engine will be alot cheaper then getting a new crate engine. Thats what i would do. Good luck! |
