06 Redline Vue ABS Question
Locked up the wheels the other day on dry pavement at about 35 MPH in a panic stop. Had to lift and re-brake to stop it under control. The dealer told me after I told them what happened "it only works in wet weather or when it senses slippage in a corner". I'm not buying that explanation. Also there was no feedback through the pedal as I have felt on other cars when ABS is engaged.
Anyone have any input, or ammunition as it were, for when I take it in to the dealership for another unrelated issue in a couple days? - Mark |

Re: 06 Redline Vue ABS Question
I don't have experience with the vehicle in question, but ABS is for panic stopping on ANY kind of road surface. I've had my ABS kick in on dry pavement before... maybe what he was thinking is that the biggest difference in terms of braking performance is during those said conditions.

Re: 06 Redline Vue ABS Question
My thoughts exactly. It's brand spankin' new. I think the dealer people are either ignorant or B.S.ing. I'm taking it back tomorrow. Thanks for your opinions. - Mark

Re: 06 Redline Vue ABS Question
i will agree with all of you, and i'm a technician at saturn. what they were explaning to you was traction control. and it was probably a service consultant who told you this wasn't it? consultants know nothing about the cars( with some exceptions)
