problems with ac in a sunfire 97

here's the problem. When the car is moving, the AC works fine, but when its stopped and idiling, it blows out warm. Even with it on max ac setting. Nice and cool when the car is moving along, but as soon as I stop at a light or something, no AC.

I think that there are no leaks because there am been checking the pressure of the cooling gas and she does not diminish some idea, thanks for its attention please help me this problem has crazy person to me

I maybe wrong so correct me guys if I am. But I think your compressor is going my friend. My dad's car was doing the same thing after I had added some more refrigerant into it to get the right pressure. He had no other problem aside from AC not being too cold, hence the reason I added refrigerant. Soon afterwards tho, he started getting the same problem as you. I noticed tho that if he accelerated the car abit the belt would move the compressor. When the car idle it wouldn't move. So I just told him to get a new compressor and he was all set. Felt bad cause I think I caused it.
Anyway before going to the parts store amke sure it has enough lubricant in it.

JUST AN IDEA, but before you take yours in to get the compressor fixed/replaced, etc. Make a MARK on it that you can recognize if they put the same one back in and charge you for a new one. Been there, done that.
In fact, I got charged the price of a new one for a rebuilt one. Also, their manhandling the lines, caused an additional leak, so tell them to be careful because youve "gone over the entire system and found no leaks". Make sure you let them know that youve gone over it, and any bullshit they try to pull is on them.

You need an A/C guage set to compare high side and low side readings. Just reading the low side doesn't do much good, as the pressure will change with atmosperic changes (temp, humidity, etc...). You may have a partial blockage in the refrigerant lines, low refrigerant charge, or possibly even a slipping serpentine belt. At idle (or WOT), the PCM may disengage the A/C compressor clutch to keep the engine at proper idle RPM or to allow extra power if you're really in the gas, which in turn would cause the A/C to stop blowing cold.
