1997 civic EX - emissions warranty

Trying to get information regarding 'typical emissions' for other 1997 Civic EX's. I am preparing for a fight with Honda in getting my vehicle fixed per the 1998 agreement between USofA and Honda which extended my emissions warranty to 150K.

I failed an emissions test slightly, but good gosh, the civic should sail way below these levels. I have read the agreement and believe that it covers pretty much everything.

A shop said that I have a leak in the exhaust manifold. I would like to know how common this problem is, and if so, I'll argue that it should be replaced.

Any links or other information, especially any tables of emissions data for the 1997 civic - I would love tto see sample data for 100 vehicles......probably dreaming, but never hurts to ask.

you should probably take it to the dealer .Usually they mail out the letters about the emissions extension .but if your under 150k and not had the extension performed they usually don't give you much of a fuss about performing the proceedure .which is spark plug ,wires cap and rotor replacment and oil change .and if you have a check engine light on and codes stored related to emissions failing components they replace those failing components as well .but if your over 150k and are a loyal honda service customer they will sometimes try and help you out.if not then your out of luck
