Just got this T-bird. A-pillar on driver's side was working fine until I disconnected belt from it in order to reach mirror out of the window. Now it won't retract. How can I get it to work again? Any help would be most appreciated. Thanx!

Re: 1992 T-bird seatbelt A-Pillar not retracting
I had the same problem with mine awhile back. My problem was that it was trying to retract but it would get stuck. I think it was just a bend in the track or something. Anyways, the track (if that's what you need) is pretty expensive. I just got into the panel in the back seat and cut the power to the motor and capped it off.
BEFORE you cut the power, there is a small manual wheel inside the panel I was talking about. try turning that wheel. You will be able to see if the pillar is getting stuck in the track. I know that isn't really fixing the problem but I can use my seatbelt now! |
