95 Escort Fuel Injectors
Just a quick question.
I changed the fuel filter in june and have not gone to far of distances in the car, but I have noticed that it is very slow to pick up speed. How do I check the fuel injectors to see if they are working properly. And what type of device do I need. Thanks |

Re: 95 Escort Fuel Injectors
Sounds like it could be more of a transmission issue.
With the car in neutral, does it hesitate to jump up to high RPM? If it is a fuel injector issue it should be noticeable when you aren't driving and liekly would effect idle. If you car is a standard transmission, check that oil is not leaking from a main seal onto the clutch... that happened to me once. The car ran fine otherwise, but was slow to accelerate because the clutch got lubed :P Could just be worn out too! If an automatic there could be a few things to consider. |

Re: 95 Escort Fuel Injectors
Its a standard Transmission with over 320000km on it. But I believe when I had the clutch changed I think it was leaking. I'll be sure to have it replaced.

Re: 95 Escort Fuel Injectors
If you can find oil in the area where the transmission meets the engine, consider it very likely that there is oil on your clutch. If a leak was identified before, it should have been fixed at the time... it is a lot of work to take all of that apart again to replace a little rubber seal!
Assuming that is the problem of course... Obviously I haven't looked at your car, but I hight doubt anything is wrong with your injectors. If the engine behaves as it should and is responsive in neutral (just sit there and rev it up a bit... there should be no hesitation) then consider clutch/tranny problems. |
