More Fiberglass!

ok so if any of you have seen my cardomain page you know i've gotten into the fiberglass thing a little with my system..i had a crazy idea for some midrange bass...what do you guys think about taking out the rear panels where our rear speakers are....and fiberglassing in 2 8" subs with a pair of tweeters for the highs...along with my 15 in the hatch for the low bass?

ill probably start on it monday...but let me know what you guys think about the idea and ill post pics monday night of what i get done

Should be nice. Its a shame you will lose nearly all of your hatch space though. I am also working on a fiberglass system in my Talon, although it won't take up near as much space with one 12".

i love how all my friends are always walking out there door right before i get to their house to pick them up

and i dont really care about hatch space because i never have to carry anything around anyways....and if i ever have the need i can just borrow dad's turbo desiel ram 2500

You can hear mine before you see it with no problem. 1200 watts to a single 12" is plenty loud the way I had it set up. We'll see how it sounds with me moving it some... Should still be pretty loud, but I'm not wanting the bass that loud anymore. I'm past the phase of wanting to lose the rest of the hearing I still have. lol

I live down a dead end. I hate when kids have it bumpin when their picking someone up or turning around. I usually get ready to go out there and kick some ass to if its late at night. I always lower(att button) my music when im stopping at a friends house, dont wanna disrespect their parents or the neighbors. Come on now... Thats jersey anyways!

Personally I think that if you have a 15 in the back then putting a couple 8's in the back seat is just too much....I would just put some real nice sounding 6x9's in the back and some good componant speakers in front with a 4 channel amp and you will have a good sounding system....

well the thing is...i have like...a whole freakin system laying next to my bed...

MA Audio 15 (waiting for a new amp before it goes in)
MA Audio 8's
MA Audio 400 Watt amp
MA Audio 5.25 front speakers (took out because i put some components in the front)
Boss Audio 2000 Watt Amp (took it out cause im ready for a little more power...i dont think that amp really puts out 2000....or anywhere near it)
Soundstream Tweeters (waiting to go in with the 8s)

so yeah i gotta start puttin some of it into/back into my car...i miss my bass and i think with the 8s and tweeters for rear speakers...the mids will be nice and crisp and the tweeters will keep my highs in the rear

I got Alpine Type Rs in the front and back (6 1/2" and 6x9"). I then got a Kenwood KDC-MP828 head unit and I love it. It doesn't POUND... but it does hit pretty good. I hate loud boom boom cars. I don't need that. But with modding the panels and everything else, there is no rattle and everything sounds perfect.

edit: please note - its still a work in progress...its red because thats what color the fabric was when i fabed it....going to paint it...maybe cover it...but either way...its not done yet...

update: i got it all put in...its still red on both sides and unfinished but i wanted to see how they sounded....im glad i went with 2 8's instead of 2 6x9s

Ehhh... Its ok. It looks a little bulky sticking out of there I think. Maybe a picture from a different angle and it won't look that bad then...
