Unhappy 98 Chevy Blazer cranks but wont start

I have a 98 Chevy Blazer, About 3 months ago it started not wanting to start when it sat over night. I can come out and crank it for about 5 mins and it will start up and I could come and go as I pleased, once it sat over night once again it would not start up again.. Now today I can crank and crank and it will not start up. It is turning over but will not start.
I have had the fuel pressure checked and that is fine.
Please give me some ideas on what to look for
Thanks
Babette

Re: 98 Chevy Blazer cranks but wont start

Your symptoms are the same as the typical low fuel pressure condition. I know that you said that it was checked, but unfortunately most people don't know the proper specs. These engines require a tremendous amount of fuel pressure. A lot of times someone will check it, see 40 - 50 psi and assume that it is good. However, these engines require a minimum of 60 psi to start. Any less and you will see hard starting and then eventually no start.

You should recheck the fuel pressure to make sure that it is above 60 psi. Until then you may be able to start it with starting fluid.
