having truble drawing carbon ...???
how the hell do i draw carbon???!!!
i only have colored pencils and cool\warm grays and 2 black pens that suck ass....... please help me!!!! |

practice is the only way! ... chrome, carbon, plastic, metal.. etc ... just practice and u'll get there. Look closer to the ref pic if you got it.. and try to draw what u see.
I know it doesnt help much, but its the only way ![]() Jin

I think I read about this in Thom's new book or was it the Hotwheels book.
Anyway carbon fiber is only exposed on the panels/parts that face the viewer. So if you are doing a black/carbon hood, the front of the hood will show the pattern the rest facing up will not show carbon attributes but must be portrayed as black paint, which is light blue or similar. You are going to need to study some nice carbon fiber cars/parts in natural lighting. Go check out Thom's book at B&Ns and the Hotwheels book.
