Sorry guys, I did it anyway.

I know you all said to put a shaker hood scoop on, but I didnt feel I should because every bird has one. Anyway, once I get set on wanting something, I usually do it, and love opinions either way. =) Anyway, let me know what you all think of the Mr. Gasket Hood Scoop on my 1979 Firebird. Here is a pic -

Re: Sorry guys, I did it anyway.

Well I'm really glad it did it now! Next thing I need to do is the interior, then I need to repaint it, and then performance!

Re: Sorry guys, I did it anyway.

Yeah that looks pretty good.. but now you better start doing some power mods if you feel like winning all of those races. Or lighten up the car atleast.

Re: Sorry guys, I did it anyway.

Looks nice.

Oh and Rally, he's got a 455 in there (says in his sig...). That's probably got enough nuts on it to eat half the slop out there.

Nice 'bird. Almost bought a 79 TA a couple years before I bought my paperweight. 25 year anniversary silver on silver, 455, 4 speed.

Re: Sorry guys, I did it anyway.

Well it is the fastest car I've ever driven off the line. I was told it was completely rebuilt for dragging (originally a v6). I sell new dodges for a living, and the SRT 8 charger would have a tough time off the line with it, but would smoke it in the long run. The car is really low geared.. i can put it in 4th gear at 30 mph, and still get pick up even tho 1st will go past 30. It feels like it has over at least 450 ft lbs of torque. As for horsepower, maybe 350+? I really wanna get a dyno done! They are just hard to find where I live. Anyway, thanks for your input guys!
