'99 Drifts Left Even After Alignment

I have a '99 with almost 60,000 miles on it.

My power steering whines a bit, especially with the A/C on, and the other day I was parallel parking and noticed a pop in the front end.

After the pop, I started to notice that the car was pulling to the left.

I took it in for an alignment. It cut down on the amount of left drift, but did not eliminate it.

I took it back today, and the shop rotated the tires to see if there was a tire problem. No luck, as it is still drifting left.

I compared the amount of drift to my wife's Cavalier (which drives dead straight) and I think it is definitely unacceptable.

Could there be a problem in my rack?

If all my alignment measurements are bang on, why would the car still drift left?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Dave

Re: '99 Drifts Left Even After Alignment

I'm gonna guess worn out or loose control arm bushings? I do remember reading somewhere about a revised Torque spec for the lower control arm bolts. I took my 01 in for a clunk in the front end, and they re-torqued those bolts, the problem on my car was the upper strut mounts.

Re: '99 Drifts Left Even After Alignment

Please let me know. I have a 99 and I had alignment after alignment and it still eats my tires up on the outer front driver side. They say I have no worn out parts (control arm bushings, tie rods, etc.). So, is there an issue with the car?
