recent repairs did i get took???
recently had work done to 98 aurora. left lower control arm $335.00 right outer tie rod end $70.00 left inner cv boot $50.00. labor to install all items $225.00.... just wondering what you guys thought. lower control arm seems mighty high. i can't buy this item at any parts store. is it gm factory part??

did the replace the entire lower control arm??? why? was it bent? or did they just change the bushings? Sound like the $335 was for parts.
Lets see, I paid $35 for my tie rod from O'reillys. Repair places usually charge 2x for parts because if there is a warranty claim later, youve paid for it already. Labor at $70/hr means it took them about 3 hours. so thats right on the money. I would have done the work myself and used the money that I paid to the shop for the tools (but since ive been doing this for so long, I already have the tools) |
