DRL dash light question

My DRL dash indicator light comes on intermitantly, though the lights work properly, is this light supposed to remain on untill I turn on the headlights?
most of the time it does not come on at all, and always goes off when I turn on the lights, can anyone shed some light on this. lol.

Re: DRL dash light question

Hi,

The (green) DRL indicator is ALWAYS on when your headlight swith is in the off position. It also goes out when the parking brake is applied. Perhaps your parking brake is on a notch and causing the on/off condition?

Re: DRL dash light question

Thanks nightwalks, not the e-brake, checked that, maybe a bad connection, went on a rough dirt road 2 weeks back and it went on and off several times, headlights not on.
the wife mostly drives the van and said it goes on then off now and then, she's the type that because of this the dash is going to catch fire, or that even though the headlights are off the lights are on highbeam.
looks like I'll have to open the dash up and play with it a bit, or at least disconnect the light to sooth here mind.
