Well, in a nut shell we've been having problems with our '98 GC
The alarm system goes off for some unknown reason, and we just can't figure out why. ![]() We've changed the battery and got the driver's side lock fixed, it previously didn't work, and now, I don't even think it's the alarm system. When we start it, there's a clicking coming from the passenger's side that sounds like the blinkers are about to go out, it's a fast clicking, but the blinkers are flickering. But! If we push back on the controls that make the seat go back and forth, it stops, but the CD player makes an array of noises. Just fantastic. Worst of all, it doesn't start, the accesories, lights and so on, don't even function. No matter what we do, all it does is the clicking and the cd player makes noises. Anyone have any idea how to disable the alarm system entirely? We're honestly sick of it and that seems to be what Mum really wants. Any advice will be much appreciated! Thanks for your time!!

Re: '98 GC Alarm Sys. Issues
There is a different forum for Grand Cherokees. I think you'd have better luck posting this in there.

Re: '98 GC Alarm Sys. Issues
Moving this to the Grand Cherokee forum for you.
I'm not up on any alarm systems.

Re: '98 GC Alarm Sys. Issues
I had the same problem. It was the door button for the interior lights, on the door jame beloe the lock. If you sit in the jeep and set the alarm, push on the door(s) and see if the alarm goes off. I put one of these stick on things you can get at the hardware store and never had the problem again.
