Yeah, this is about gas mileage efficiency, again

I have a True Flow cold air intake system on my 2004 Tahoe. I heard that installing a dual exhaust, new MAF for the True Flow, and purchasing the Hypertech programmer will seriously increase my gas mileage. Not too concerned about how it sounds and the horsepower. I keep tires inflated, regularly change the oil, and all of that other happy stuff for gas mileage, and am getting about 18.5 to 19 on highway. I know this pretty good, but I want better if possible. Thanks.

Re: Yeah, this is about gas mileage efficiency, again

i recently put a flowmaster 50 series suv 2.25/3inch exhaust on my 99 tahoe and since then my gas mileage has gone downhill bigtime. i'm getting about 10mpg now. i don't know if maybe it's because i'm putting my foot into it more because i like the sound or what. but i thought the exhaust would increase mpg...

I just did a similar thing with a new Flowmaster catback. Im hoping for better milage, but like you I also like that new sound. After I fill up again, I want to track the milage to see if it gets better.

I was also thinking about installing a K&N filter as a direct replacement to see if milage improves there too.
