'00 Sierra a/c not working

About 2 weeks ago, the a/c in my 2000 Sierra started blowing warm air, so I pulled over, shut off the engine and checked all the fuses, they were fine, got back in the truck, fired it up and the a/c worked fine. Today it started blowing warm air again, compressor is not coming on. Any ideas?
