I was just wondering a couple things about the s10 and sonoma's. I'm looking into trading my truck for a 03 s10 extreme, 4.3L, 5sp. I was wondering if anyone knows what gears come with extreme's most of the time? Also I was wondering if a 03 s10 is faster than a 94 s10? Because my friend has a 94 sonoma with a 4.3L, automatic, 3.42 gears and it feels faster than other sonoma's and s10's i've been in(this in not going to make my decison on getting the truck just like to know). Just wondering if that is just the feeling or is the older one's faster, because on msn they rate the older ones at 165hp and 236lb/ft of torque and the new ones are 190hp and 250lb/ft of torque. Also on msn they say that for 03 they have revised fuel-injection system for Vortec 4300 V6, what did they do to it and what does it do better than the other 1 before they revised it? If anyone knows any answers to any of these ?'s.

is your friends s10 a tbi or cpi motor? i had a 94 with the cpi and it was 200 hp/250 torque. also the newer trucks have 2 versions of 4.3- the good one has 190, i think the other is 170 or 175.

It's tbi, but every other s10 or sonoma he has raced he has beat them by a couple car lengths. Even if he burns out a little to long off the line he has been able to inch on them and get infront of them.
