A loss and a win

Today on the way home from work I was at a light next to a blue WRX. I wasn't even thinking of racing but as soon as the light turned green he took off and I floored it, than into second gear I broke traction and the trac control bogged me down really bad and the WRX pulled away pretty hard. The next light came up and this time I had the trac off, again he took off a little earlier than me (I must have a bad reaction time). He didn't do any crazy 6000 rpm launch or anything and I pulled past him right at the end of 1st and continued through 2nd and than there was another redlight. It was only light to light so it was only a car or a car and a half between us that race. I gave him a thumbs up and he waved and that was my afternoon. Its good to blow out the cobwebs once and a while.

Re: A loss and a win

Good loss and win. Usually, as with almost all AWD cars, you have to reel them in. I think more then anything it gives them an advantage psychologically, as the other guy usually ends up biffing up a shift trying to make up ground.

Anyways, have you gotten any track times for your stang? I remember Dampachi's quest for the 13's with his Mustang GT.

Re: A loss and a win

I took it there one time and the timer was messed up so I didn't get a time. I have no idea what I would run with this car when it comes down to it. 13's would be great but I have really nothing added that would give me more power. Out of all my mods (remember this car is lightly modded) I think the tires were the most noticable.

Good races. AWD is a beast off the line. After that I would think it should be fairly easy to pull him back in.

Re: A loss and a win

Well the first time there was no pulling him back in, after that trac bogged me down into second he was already ahead and the light was ahead. The second time I did reel him back in and pass.
