Also, contrary to popular belief, they don't fall apart and I can attest to that. For a car that I purchased practically with coins I found in my previous cars seats, it's a fantastic value. The Accent is a fantastic car for the price. Please direct your hate elsewhere. Joel |

Personally I think its lame to go into other car forums and start bagging on the people ... dont you have anything better to do?
Why am I here? I was showing my friend who has an '02 accent the rally car pics.

yeah well, of course it has to work properly, come on, is a new car! I just canīt get over the .... C pillar I guess you call it? it has an old design no where else seen. Havenīt you notice? you know, by the windshield and front windows.
Hyundai is taking to long to over due the Accent, even the Rio looks more substancial, even though itīs smaller, isnīt? The only Hyundai I like, even a lot, is the Santa Fe, well done, tight, and great value $$$

I love my accent its really cute and its alot of fun to drive. even though it doesn't look great unless you do stuff to it. But thats what i wanted a cheap car so that i could deck it out and do what i want to it. i bought a 2001 accent with only 47,000 miles on it and it was under 8K. you can't beat that. plus it still has a warenty on it. what the hell is with everyone and there civics. everyone has a civic why don't we try something new. if everyone has one then weres the fun in that. its not unique and pretty soon its just going to get boring. so get a life and don't bust on everything thats not a civic.

come on, the Lanos its a bad copy of the Accent (the 4 door version, the original one), check out your car's shape from some side, its the same...
the accent appeared in 1995, the Lanos, with a really ugly grill in the front, in 1997 i think. The main difference between the cars, the grill in the daewoo, and the small plastic in the passenger doors in the Lanos too. A pitiful engine, a 1500cc with 80 hp in front of the Accent's Alpha type Engine, with 92 hp and 12 valves. Of course, check the brakes, the Accent has ventilated discs and the Lanos still keeps the old solid discs, used only in third world cheap cars. Another thing, the new primera is the great example of how bad models can be followed, everything started with the Ford KA, then the Toyota Yaris and now the Primera. Having great cars like the Skyline, the Bluebird SSS or the Primera GXE, they make a expensive stuff with camera incorporated in an ugly shape. Even the new Toyota Avensis, with that coffin style, looks better than the Primera. Better check out the XG's models, that's a nice way to keep a good desing and to improve.

my fiancee bought a Accent. I would not have got it for myself, but i supported her in getting it, it was a good price and had low miles. Not everyone drives a car to show it off.
And yeah, my Civic which is 5 years older than her Accent is 100% better to drive. |

Hyundai has had some quality issues in the past, but they seem to be the past. I chose an Accent for my new car for a few different reasons.
a.) Warrantee...covers reliability. It'll be fixed for 100k miles. No Honda can say that, and there's more than enough issues in new Hondas to make me not buy one without a good warantee. b.) Price...who can touch 11,500 for a fully loaded car, brand new? c.) Performance...got a car for under 12k that can duck under a 17sec 1/4 stock? I didn't think so. Funny, I raced a 1996 Maxima the other day. It got a nice view of the back end of my Accent.

I had an 01 drove it 50,000 miles before trade in. One major engine repair.. but with the warrenty. I paid nothing. Drove it at the track alot. That might be why that happened. Times where in the upper 16s. BTW thats around the same as a Civic EX (has about 25 hp on the accent) So I wouldn't call the crap... u get more than what u paid for with them.
