1998 Chevy Malibu Electrical problem

Hey all. My 1998 malibu is having an electrical problem i believe. when I turn on the headlights my gauges on the dashboard and the tempeture gauges and such dont light up with it. Only the cd player does. I check the fuses and they are good, and the dimmer switch does nothing. Any Ideas? Anything will be helpful. Thanks. Ryan
