Hate living here

Why does everybody with a turbocharged eclipse live either, in california or on the east coast. I live in denver, CO pop-1.5 million and i have only found 1 2g GSX in the entire state. ok , i did find another but it was $8300 I have searched over 20 times on every imaginable classifieds website and ebay over the course of the summer. Colorado seems like a logical place for a GSX. Sports car with AWD for when it snows. This makes it nearly impossible for me to buy one becasue shipping is expensive as hell. Help me decode this mystery

Re: Hate living here

I've seen a few DSM's, but nothing spectacular or reasonably priced (also Wisc.)

Re: Hate living here

why werent these cars more popular, they were just about the fastest thing you could buy for under 25K in 1995 and still are and they fit the midwest perfectly in wisconsin, nebraska kansas michigan, illinois, wisconsin, idaho, CO, wyoming, and iowa it snows here all the time and FWD is the standard in snow and AWD is amazing so why didnt anybody buy them??

Re: Hate living here

There were simply too many reliability rumours going around. Plus I'm sure people just didn't like the look of the car back then, but I still think that it was because of the engine reliability rumours. When Mitsubishi put out the V6 engines in the 2000+ Eclipses, sales went up, sad to say, but they did.

There is a steady increase of DSMs coming into my city, though. I've spotted only one GSX.

I would have to dispute this...Mitsu was doing well with sales on these cars, and then when they made the switch over to the 3g sales slumped from what I hear. If you could post some backup to your statement that would be great.

Re: Hate living here

I'll search for it, but I remember it being in an article.. and it made sence, otherwise Mitsu would have put the 4G63 back into the 4th gen, instead of keeping the v6. The American public always wanted bigger and that's what they got. I'm not saying the 2G sales sucked or anything, but the public wanted a bigger engine. Although I am aware of the 4th gen 4G63 concept, I have yet to see it on the streets, but I'll look for the article.

Re: Hate living here

It may be a pretty big club however, the total numbers are not even comprable to the numbers on the east coast

Uhhh..... no offense, but an Eclipse is not a "sports-car".
