1982 Oldsmobile V8 not starting

My car stalled out, a wile ago i tried to start it after it didnt run for a couple weeks and i had to tap the starter for it to get going. Then after that when i would drive around it would just turn off for a quick second like it died then start back up again before i had time to take my foot off the gas. Now it wont start at all, when i turn the key its completely nothing, no turning over, no cranking. Anyone have any ideas?

with so little info to work with, I'll take a wild stab. Sounds like your alternator failed.

My guess is starter (solenoid) turn lights on to see if the batt has voltage still. Or a simple jump start will narrow it down a bit.
