what the difference between pk2 and pk3?

Hey guys, im kind of new to this forum, i've been on the lumina a one a lot, but my g/f owns a 2002 grand prix se, and i a 2001 lumina. i have installed a remote starter, and know how to wire the remote starter in to allow it to bypass vats pass-key2 with the resistor pellet in the key. However, how would one wire in a starter with a pass-key3 system? (as whats in her gp se) Her key does not have a resistor chip in it, so i was wondering what the differnce between the sysems are, or maybe could get a wiring diagram of the pass-key 3 system. thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: what the difference between pk2 and pk3?

The Passkey III anti-theft deterrent system is more complex and it would take some extensive wiring and bypass mods in which I don't know of any that exist. However, installers are using a GM Pass Key III Immobilizer Bypass Module for remote starter installation. They cost around $40 - $50.

Check with Ponchonutty. He seems to be knowledgeable in these areas since he does the stuff for a living.
