86 GM 5.0L EFI Engine Shuts off on low RPM

Hello there Everyone, I am going nuts and going BROKE trying to figure this problem out!

The car is fine through out the winter and up to about 70 degrees Ambient Air temperatures, from about 75 and up it shuts down the engine when I do Stop and Go in town. The hotter it gets the more frequently it occurs and I have to open the hood and let it cool for about 20 minutes before it'll restart.

I have replaced the Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, Spark Plugs, Plug Wires, Cap, Rotor, Ignition Module so far!

Anyone have any Idea's as to what is causing this to happen? it's Obvious that it's Heat related. I am at the point that I am thinking of replacing the Idle Sensor solenoid but I am hoping to get a reply to this before I go and spend another $70.00 for this part.

Going Bald

Marco

P.S. The engine is not overheating and I'm not getting any check engine light nor am I getting any code off of this problem.

I had a similar thing happening and a tune up and check of the vacuum lines is all it took to fix it.

If that doesn't work check the IAC.

Take the module to Advance or Auto Zone and get it checked. Sometimes the pickup in the distributor will heat up and shut you down. This requires a special puller. http://www.tooltopia.com/ Search THE415
You can also buy a rebuilt distributor. Suggest Napa or Ford

May I make a suggestion. When you cant start for that 20 mins try to see if you have spark prob or fuel problem. If you have pressure at fuel rail ( I know you changed pump how about relay ?)and spark. try (if you havent) to full throd then turn over if starts its not getting proper fuel air mix ( flooding) of course if your missing fuel or spark you have direction to follow. In your I replaced list I dont see air filter? can also be map sensor (if you have on 86 maf can be cleaned with carb cleaner) dont hit maf with lots of pressure. Also on older ford 5.0 the egr can cause eng to die.Good luck let us know how you do, another thought injector could be sticking. when you replaced spark plugs did any look like they were running rich?

"maf can be cleaned with carb cleaner"
Carb cleaner is not good for electronics, it leaves behind deposits that throw the MAF off and can melt plastics. Use electronics or MAF cleaner. Preferably MAF cleaner. Brake cleaner and throttle body cleaner is also a no no.

brake cleaner distroys rubber, carb cleaner doesnt, thats why it can be used on carbs etc with rubber and plastic. carb cleaner ok for maf just like on most power steering pumps trans fluid ok(not all some need hydr fluid) but you can pay 5x as much for power steering fluid.
