Re: How many Cobalts are here?

no, no where near the same as the cavy, about 20 times better than the cavy could ever be. I love the cobalt, reminds me of how i felt when i first got the cavy.

Re: How many Cobalts are here?

I have a SS/SC and before this car I had a Cavalier LS sport 2004. I happily traded it for the Cobalt. On the SS/SC it a 100% differant car than the Cav was. I see no comparison whatsoever to a Cav. Engine is differant, 100% differant interrior as well as 4 wheel disc brakes.

It's been a good car, the 4 months and 2300 miles later.

Re: How many Cobalts are here?

not to mention, and try not to take offense to this, but i no longer have anything in common with the batch of retarded ricers that live in the cavalier section of this forum.

Re: How many Cobalts are here?

I've got a 2.2 liter LT coup with the sports package. The cobalt is a huge upgrade from the Cavalier

Re: How many Cobalts are here?

I ran accross someone at a stop light, he was going the opposite direction as me. He had a yellow SS/SC on Thursday night. I know he wanted to meet up because he didn't turn right at the light and he honked, but I was on the way to a concert in Boulder. I don't see too many SS/SCs here in Denver, I would guess I have seen 5 in the 5 months I have had mine.

Re: How many Cobalts are here?

I have a month old 2.2L LT Sedan with the sports package. Personally, I think this is the worse piece of crap I've ever owned. As I was driving off the lot I felt and heard a funny knocking sound on the rear passenger side of the car(which of course the dealer couldn't hear when I abruptly turned around and made him listen too). The knocking, which sounds like a problem with the suspension system, is now very loud and regular. When I brought it to service I was told that they would check it out when I get my first oil change. I have OnStar and according to their monthly reports I'm not due for an oil change for another few months.
I've also found 2 design flaws - one potentially dangerous. The first has to do with the rear door. Upon opening it I received a severe blow to the chest from the stupid top curve of the door. I thought it was just a fluke until I had a rear passenger who also suffered the same blow. (Unfortunately, I forgot to tell the person to stand back when opening the door.) The second, very dangerous flaw, has to do with the horn, or rather the position of the horn. Even though I know this car has the cruise control in the stupid position where most cars have the horn, in an emergency, as I was the other day, I automatically pressed that area. If I didn't react quickly enough and bang the center of the steering wheel (which meant I had to take a hand off the wheel) to alert a distracted pick-up driver I would have been hit in the side of the car. I emphasize the word 'bang' because that's what it took to get the horn to honk. Honestly, I am very unhappy with this car and find it a very uncomfortable drive. I am already looking into unloading this hunk of junk.

Re: How many Cobalts are here?

so your dont like the car because your hitting yourself with the door ? Almost every chev/GM car has the horn in the middle of the steering wheel, i dont recall being in one that didnt have it there. And if you have a hard time pressing the horn in, go hit the weights buddy.

Re: How many Cobalts are here?

It's not the car's fault that you can't think to get out of the way when a door is swinging at you. It's also not the car's fault that like every other newer model car, the cruise control is on the edge of the stearing wheel and the horn is in the middle.

Re: How many Cobalts are here?

This is not the first car I've ever owned. I've owned many, many cars and this one is by far the worst I've ever had. In the past I've owned cars by Nissan, Mercedes, Peugeot, Lincoln, Honda, Chrysler, Dodge, Buick, Lexus, Toyota and Acura, to name just a few. I change cars every 2-3 years. Therefore, I'm old enough and experienced enough to know a good car when I see one and this sure isn't one of them. Even the tin can Honda was better designed than this car and up to the point of my owning this car I considered the Honda the worse car I've ever owned.
Also, according to the Cobalt forum seems I'm not alone in that many other owners have the same knocking noise coming out of their piece of crap too.
But if you like the car and it makes you happy more power to you. I for one do not and will be unloading it shortly.
