WIP: Porsche 959

Got a package in the mail today, it was the MAN semi-truck I plan to use for my rally diorama, and this one, a Porsche 959.

Now, this is my first German car, and I really don't know much about the Porsche 959 aside from it being a famous supercar of the 80's. Anyone have any more resources?

I got this kit because I was in the mood for Tamiya, and picked this one up brand new on E-Bay for very cheap. Cool kit, thinking about perhaps going white with gold wheels.

Wikipedia is a great resourse for learning about cars. From there you can also link off to other 959 sites.

I happen to love the car! The Tamiya kit is a dream to build, mine was almost 15 years old but still slot together perfectly. The only real pain in the butt is getting the body on around the exhaust. You'll see what I mean when you cross that river.

You'll enjoy the build. Nice and simple, too. I liked it so much I bought the 1/16th 959 that I'll build when my skills have improved.

This might be interesting.

This is a cool kit, I have started one also. It's old, but the engraving is very crisp and there's a lot of detail.

Re: WIP: Porsche 959

That's a great car.
Anyone knows if there is a Paris-Dakar version of it?
