Don't know the answer offhand but seeing there are no other replies...if you post the exact code I will check the FSM and see what it says. Most OBD2 codes are generic and you really need to match the code with the info in the service manual. Good example was a recent post about "shift solenoid A" in the automatic transmission. This is a generic code - each vehicle may have a slightly different meaning on what solenoid A is. As far as the metro is concerned O2 Sensor 1 is the one near the exhasut manifold and sensor 2 is the one after the cat. Reading the generic code interpretation may not always be much help.

OK that's a Heater Performance code for sensor 2. I would check the wiring and connections for loose connections, shorts etc. Failing that probably the best thing is to replace the sensor. It looks like the ECM is not detecting current flow in the sensor heater and is setting this code.

The o2 sensor heaters are nothing but a wire that gets hot. Like a lightbulb, it'll burn out eventually. Especially when it's exposed to as many pollutants as an o2 sensor is. Just replace them. If the heaters are toast, the sensor portion probably isn't giving proper readings anymore either.

That #2 senser is about $150. The #1 is only $70. I don't understant that.
